APRIL 5: MAGIC BABIES ANNUAL PICNIC
Relax while enjoying Chipotle catering and desserts as you visit with families touch by the Magic of Down syndrome, the Magic of Pitt Hopkins syndrome, and other Magic while kids play in the enclosed playground. Free event from Magic Babies Monterey County, a volunteer parent-to-parent group that supports families touched by Magic of Down syndrome, Pitt Hopkins syndrome, and other Magic. APRIL 6 | 10 AM-5 PM: CALIFORNIA WILDLIFE DAY
Enjoy a day of family-friendly fun, hands-on kids’ activities, interactive exhibits, and speakers celebrating California’s wildlife and ecosystems. This year’s theme, “Working Together to Create Healthy Habitats,” highlights the power of conservation and collaboration. Keynote speaker is Erica Gies, author of “Water Always Wins”. APRIL 12 & 13 | 10 AM-5 PM: WHALEFEST MONTEREY
Whalefest Monterey is a free, family-friendly festival that combines science, the arts and history. It is a 2-day event set around Monterey’s Old Fisherman’s Wharf and the adjacent Custom House Plaza, designed to be enjoyed by attendees of all ages. It features exhibits from dozens of local and national non-profit organizations related to marine science, sustainability of land and sea, and the environment. In addition, Whalefest Monterey features a Symposium where world renowned scientists from local marine science research institutions share their latest research findings.
APRIL 1911 AM-3 PM: SALINAS EV RIDE & DRIVE
Attendees will be able to test drive the latest electric vehicles, talk to EV owners displaying their vehicles, and engage with family-friendly organizations. This free family fun event offers the opportunity to explore sustainable modes of transportation. Held at Salinas Amtrak Station.
APRIL 26 9 AM-5 PM: MOSS LANDING MARINE LABORATORIES OPEN HOUSE
Visitors will learn about everything from kelp forests to penguins in the Antarctic. There will be a silent auction and student-designed MLML merchandise for sale. Food and drinks will also be available for purchase. Admission is free. 8272 Moss Landing Road, Moss Landing
