Each year we choose our cover models from the entries that come into our Cover Kids Contest. We’re looking for children from our community with great smiles and personalities to match. Plus, the contest is open to parent or grandparent/child groups as well as siblings. Our cover photographer, publisher, and staff members will choose our favorite eight entries and the subjects will on a cover during 2025. All entrants will receive a coupon for a free Kona Ice treat.
To enter your child please fill out the information below completely. The contest runs from August 1-September 15 with cover models being announced on September 17 and winners notified in social media and by email.
Some tips on submitting your entry:
- Send a forward-facing photo of your child
- The photo should have good lighting and show the child’s face clearly
- Child shouldn’t be wearing sunglasses, face painting, makeup, or a hat that obscures their face
- Photo doesn’t have to be professional but it should be clear, non-grainy, and show your child’s complete face
- We’re looking for ordinary, cute kids–not child models so showing personality and big smiles will go a long way
- Photo should be taken within 30 days of entry
- The photo you send for entry is NOT the photo that will be on cover. We will arrange a professional photo shoot when it’s your child’s turn for a cover if they are chosen.
- All of the people in the photos you send will be on cover if you are entering for a group.
