ACTOR FACTOR
Learn how actors prepare for the stage and beyond. This camp covers acting for theatre, clowning and mime, commercials, film and much more. This class is great for beginners and for those who would like to hone their craft.

STAGE COMBAT
Have you ever dreamed of being in an epic sword battle from The Lord of the Rings or Pirates of the Caribbean? Or maybe you prefer hand-to-hand combat in the style of superheroes like Batman or the Avengers! How do actors portray combat on stage and in the film without causing harm to other performers? In this class, students will get an introduction to the many techniques of stage combat to create a convincing fight choreography. Learn sword fighting, mock brawls falls, and more! Learn the art (and fun!) that goes into acting and choreographing staged combat. Then combine your newly acquired skills with text from some of your favorite stories and recreate famous stage combat scenes. Final battles will be filmed for families.

JEDI TRAINING CAMP
Calling all Jedi apprentices for a week of stage combat and physical theater – Star Wars style! In Jedi tradition, build your own lightsaber and prepare yourself for Yoda’s Degobah System training session. Hone your padawan skills and become one with the Force, and avoid joining the Dark Side as Darth Vader and the Emperor attempt to turn you to the forces of the Sith!

HOGWARTS WIZARDING CAMP
Come spend a week at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Live the life of a young wizard with classes in Divination, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Herbology, Potions, Transfiguration, and Quidditch. Make and take home some of your favorite Hogwarts memorabilia, make favorite scenes from the book come to life, participate in dueling challenges and help your house team win the coveted House Cup. Goblet of Fire prizes are given out every day! Each summer is a new year at Hogwarts with all-new activities and magical moments. All materials are supplied. This class integrates multiple art forms, but it does not culminate in a performance.

A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM (FULL PRODUCTION)
A PlayLab Camp is an artistic experiment working with original or adapted stories and plays. Together we re-imagine literature. In this PlayLab Camp we will use our favorite stories as inspiration to explore storylines, characters, dialogue, and character movements to foster a deeper understanding of each theatrical element and the role it plays in a performance. Students are allowed the freedom of artistic expression and play an active role in the creative process as we embark on the journey of creating a unique piece of art inspired by our favorite stories and their characters. PlayLabs are enhanced by sets, lights, costumes and all the theatre magic we can create.
Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream is a whimsical tale of fairies, lovers, and woodland mischief. One of Shakespeare’s most frequently performed plays, A Midsummer Night’s Dream is the story of the events surrounding the wedding of Theseus, Duke of Athens, and the Amazonian queen Hippolyta. Magic, mischief and a little mayhem are afoot in this classic comedy.

POKEMON ADVENTURES (AN ORIGINAL PRODUCTION)
Stories On Stage introduces campers to the sequence of a play/story, vocal and physical control, and story creation incorporating music and movement. Campers explore the vocabulary and fundamentals of theatre and performance. Each camper is encouraged to express themselves with inspiration from popular children’s stories and authors.
Come play with this merry band of pocket monsters as we explore the origins, history, storylines and role-playing adventures of Pokémon. We will train and trade and build a unique story of our own resulting in an informal showcase Friday afternoon for family and friends!

PIRATE LORE FROM AROUND THE WORLD (AN ORIGINAL PRODUCTION)

Join us for a swashbuckling adventure like no other! Tall tales of Long John Silver, Blue Beard, and the dubious Anne Bonny are among the tall tales we tell. Learn the legends of the looting and rebellious pirate from around the world. Throughout history many of the swarthiest, most memorable pirates were actually, you guessed it… girls! And there be trouble brewin’ with this swarthy team of pirates around. Battle the deadly seas to see who claims the loot: bragging rights to be declared the greatest, deadliest, swarthiest pirate of the Caribbean. Rumor has it, this one’s sure to be a tale of swashbuckling adventure, fiendish frenzy, and terrific treasure– Drink up, me hearties and see you in the Caribbean… and beyond.
