Archie Visits Pacific Grove's Butterfly Sanctuary
It's a beautiful time of year to visit the Monarch Grove Sanctuary.
There's something poetic about seeing butterflies, symbols of rebirth and transformation, at the start of a new year. We've gone several times in the past week to view and appreciate the butterflies. The morning light and the soft scent of the eucalyptus and pine trees is so peaceful. It never gets old.
Many butterflies have been knocked down from their resting places in the treetops by the recent rain and winds. Dozens of them are drying and warming themselves on the ground. The walking path is strewn with recovering butterflies, so tread carefully!
