The City of Monterey, Old Monterey Business Association, and Monterey Firefighters Community Foundation will host a full day of family fun events for the whole community this Thursday, July 4, 2024.
The day’s schedule of activities includes:
7:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. – MONTEREY FIREFIGHTERS CHARITY PANCAKE BREAKFAST
Monterey Firefighters Charity Pancake Breakfast benefits Monterey County Youth Museum and takes place at Fire Station #11, 600 Pacific Street. Reservations are required – tickets are $15 per person and can be purchased at https://mymuseum.org/july4. There will be arts and crafts for the kids, a chance to meet your local firefighters, and a hearty breakfast featuring coffee, pancakes, eggs, sausage, fruit, and all the fixings. Fun for the whole family!
10:00 a.m. – 4th OF JULY PARADE, sponsored by the City of Monterey, Old Monterey Business Association, and Old Monterey Foundation. Join the cheering spectators as they line Alvarado and Calle Principal streets. Join in and revel in the festive floats, patriotic displays, entertaining costumes, and musical bands. The best place to park on the day of the parade will be the West Garage, East Garage, or Lot 7 (enter on Pacific Avenue). Visit https://oldmonterey.org or call (831) 655-8070 for more information.
10:45 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. – MONTEREY’S BIG 4TH OF JULY CELEBRATION AND BACKYARD FOOD FEST ON COLTON HALL LAWN – ADMISSION FREE – https://monterey.org/july4th Hosted by the City of Monterey. Music, food, and fun for the whole family! A variety of food options will be available for purchase, or you can bring a picnic lunch. This is an alcohol-free event.

- 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. – The Pfeffers
- 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. – Pure Ecstasy
- 1:30 – 3:00 p.m. – The Money Band
- 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. – Neon Velvet
10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. – COLTON HALL MUSEUM OPEN – ADMISSION FREE
Colton Hall Museum will be open to the public from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Come learn about the birthplace of California.
REMINDER: The Monterey Fire Department reminds everyone that fireworks of any kind, including ‘safe and sane’ fireworks, are prohibited in the City of Monterey and carry a significant fine of $1,000.
