AIM Youth Mental Health is partnering with the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, the Monterey County Office of Education and Mental Health Connect to provide “Mental Health First Aid Certification” for caring adults, including parents, teachers, counselors, first responders and health care providers. This training will ensure that youth are surrounded by trained individuals who are prepared to recognize and respond to signs of mental illness, substance use disorders and other mental health crises. The 7-hour course starts with two hours of self-paced, online course work that you can do anytime followed by five hours of instructor-led training. Currently, the instructor- led portion of the training is done via Zoom. Upon completion, you will be certified in Mental Health First Aid. Cost: $85 (discounts and scholarships available).
