Teachers on the Estuary – Preparing for Climate Impacts Through Stewardship

NOAA’s Planet Stewards, Elkhorn Slough, and South Slough National Estuarine Research Reserves (NERRS) are hosting a simultaneous three-day workshop for educators about the impacts of global climate change on estuaries and their adjacent communities along the Pacific Coast, and how to engage their schools and communities to take action to address regional impacts of this global phenomenon.
Participants will spend three days at Elkhorn Slough learning climate change and watershed content, taking part in field experiences, and learning how to incorporate these topics and stewardship actions into their classrooms and communities.
*This workshop is planned for in-person learning. Depending on Covid-19 safety guidelines at the time of the workshop, an alternate, virtual experience may be required. All registrants will be kept apprised of programmatic changes.
