Stanford Free, Virtual Talk: The HPV Vaccine -- 20th century discovery, Today’s cancer prevention"

The Stanford Cancer Institute (SCI) will host a free, virtual Science Café community talk “The HPV Vaccine -- 20th century discovery, Today’s cancer prevention” on Monday, March 6, 2023, from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm PT, through Zoom and telephone. Attendees will hear from Ana Reyes, cancer survivor and health advocate, Dr. Beverly S. Mitchell, oncologist and scientist, and Dr. Nichole Tyson, physician and pediatric and adolescent gynecologist.

After decades of research and clinical trials, the HPV vaccine was approved starting in 2006. Our health experts will explain the science background and health benefits of this vaccine, especially when children are vaccinated at age 11 or 12 years old.
