Spring Parent-Child Garden Class
to
Santa Cruz Waldorf School 2190 Empire Grade, Santa Cruz, California 95060
These classes model home and family life and provide an atmosphere of warmth, support, and ease to explore the world together in community. Using song, movement, and play, the parents observe their child in the company of other adults and children. Parents learn, too, through readings and discussions of the many elements of raising young children, with themes of nourishment, cleaning, play, sleep, and discipline among them.
Parent-Child Program
IN THE GARDEN (in person)
The in-person gatherings will offer an abbreviated version of the classroom but outside in a beautiful garden. We will sing, learn simple games, have circle time and a warm nourishing snack to experience the workings of the early childhood program.
FOR THE PARENTS (online)
Many of us are in our homes more than ever, sharing spaces with more people and work tasks. This part of the course aims to find ways to make home a sanctuary where daily life can flow more efficiently to serve a household with very young children. The themes will be discussed and supported with readings from 2 books. Topics include practical ways to create a workable home rhythm to nourish a family with young children through play, attention to the senses, and ways to include very young children with simple household tasks.
