RK Honey brings the good sweet stuff from their hives in Boulder Creek and, a rotating farm-to-condiment table spotlights local food artisans who know that sourcing from market farms creates the best flavor for their products. Keep your eyes out for a craft booth featuring local artists, Copper Moon Apothecary selling specialty body products and Burn with fermented hot sauces and veggies like jalapenos, carrots and beets.
The Market
Started in 2009 with the City of Scotts Valley, the market represents farmers and specialty food purveyors along with cook-to-order food. This local market is the place for the the Scotts Valley community to get their fill of fresh, healthy, locally grown fruits and vegetables. During the summer months, SCCFM music series showcases local music and there is a shaded cafe seating area, along with space for the young ones to hang out and play. The market provides unlimited free parking and is located next to Sky Park and is across the from the new Scotts Valley library.
Kids Zone!
The market provides parents a centrally located shaded spot in the market that their kids can hang out, draw, play with toys, read and work on their best socialization skills with other young ones.
Pop-Up Breakfast Event Series: July 8th in Scotts Valley
We at the Santa Cruz Community Farmers’ Markets miss no opportunity to celebrate around good food. Joining in the fun 2013-2016, we have hosted between four and six pop-up, farm-to-table breakfast events at the Scott’s Valley and Westside FM each year. In the space of the markets, guests gather to sit down at a long table among friends and enjoy a fresh, multi-course meal prepared on-site. At each event admired local chefs serve up sensational mixes of simple cuisine made with seasonal ingredients from the very farms that sell at the market. Local youth leaders from food justice organization FoodWhat?! serve the fair while farmers mingle at the tables. Each event offers its own pleasing qualities: a wood-fired stove, seasonal blooms, fine charcutery. With each event we learn more about how to make this moment magical, connecting farmers, chefs, our local landscape and you. The 2017 schedule is available and tickets are on sale now. Chef Brad Briske will be orchestrating an outstanding menu on July 8th. These events sold out last year with a waiting list – we encourage you to purchase your tickets now.
