The Great Pumpkin Drive hosted by the Monterey Museum of Art
to
Monterey Museum of Art La Mirada 720 Via Mirada, Monterey, California 93940
The Monterey Museum of Art will be hosting The Great Pumpkin Drive at our La Mirada location, showcasing the pumpkin carving talents of our local artists and community. The community is invited to a FREE drive-through pumpkin art show, and encouraged to donate non-perishable goods to local non-profit All-In Monterey, with the option to make a monetary donation to MMA to support future programs. Our goal is to provide a creative, festive, and safe event for families, while promoting the spirit of giving back.
Submit your spookiest or silliest pumpkin art!
Participants may carve their own designs, or choose from stencils inspired by our collection! Drop off will be Thursday, October 29 at MMA La Mirada, 720 Via Mirada. Be sure to label your artwork with your name and contact information if you would like to pick it up after the Drive.
Reserve your time to visit the show!
MMA volunteers and staff will be on-site for donation collection and to direct traffic. Visitors are encouraged to pre-register and select a time of entry. In the event of a high volume of traffic, cars will be directed to the MPC lower lots. The Great Pumpkin Drive will be completely contactless and we ask that all visitors remain in their vehicle for the duration of the show. Visitors will be also asked to wear COVID-19 appropriate masks.
Honor Dia de los Muertos
In honor of Dia de los Muertos, we will have a small ofrenda or altar visible for our visitors. Our ofrenda will be decorated with papel picado, sugar skull art and vibrant marigolds to celebrate the departed and keep them present in our lives. Contribute to our ofrenda with photos, art or other offerings for your loved ones. Be sure to label your offerings with your name and contact information if you’d like to pick them up after the drive.
Support our Community
What better way to celebrate a pumpkin art show than with a pumpkin pie? All-In Monterey will be on site collecting food donations for families of Monterey County. Contactless donation opportunities will be available.
The Fun Continues
After The Great Pumpkin Drive on Friday, join our community partner All-In Monterey for hALL-INween! This will not be a “consolation” Halloween, this will be a knock-your-socks-off hALL-INween for the families across Monterey, ALL while being covid safe! Any pumpkins not picked up from the Museum after Friday’s Great Pumpkin Drive will be delivered to Seaside High and featured at Saturday’s hALL-INween where the Museum will host a booth, joining other community organizations in handing out treats to the children and admiring their costumes.
