Felton Farmers Market
to
120 Russell Avenue 120 Russell Avenue, Felton, California 95018
The Felton Farmers’ Market started in 1987 and is the second oldest market in Santa Cruz County. In 2009, SCCFM took over operations and has since increased the variety of certified organic fruits and vegetables, artisan foods and implemented the EBT/SNAP benefit program.
This seasonal market is a favorite for the communities living in the San Lorenzo Valley and is located in the heart of downtown Felton on Hwy 9. Considered the most kid friendly market in the area, the market provides a centrally located space for parents to leave their young ones, who can draw, play or get their faces painted. The market is a perfect place for families to come and enjoy the day.
The 2017 Season
The Felton Farmers’ Market will reopen on May 2nd, 2017. The 2016 season brought more farms showcasing the best in regional organic produce, pasture raised meats and eggs. The Felton market is truly a local market with San Lorenzo Valley-based farms like Old House, Madrone Coast and Cresent Farm all a stones throw away. RoliRoti, the country’s first and finest gourmet rotisserie food truck, returned for a second season serving only sustainably-farmed meats and organic produce at their seasonal best. Local favorite, The Penny Ice Creamery served up unique flavors like whiskey custard, peach sorbet and honey yogurt persimmon. The Cremer House joined us for their first season with local brew and pickled goodness. It was a great year. See you all soon!
Kids Zone!
The market provides parents a centrally located shaded spot in the market that their kids can hang out, draw, play with toys, read and work on their best socialization skills with other young ones.
Market Match
Market Match offers farmers’ market customers a dollar for dollar match up to $10 on their CalFresh (food stamp) cards at the Felton market. If a customer swipes their CalFresh card for $7, they get $7 of Market Match for free, swipe $10, you get $10. The goal of this project is to encourage CalFresh (EBT/SNAP) recipients to take advantage of fresh, locally-grown fruits and vegetables. SCCFM will be offering the Market Match program for the 2016 season. By offering an incentive that lowers the price of fresh produce, we are helping shoppers stretch their food dollars while keeping their families healthy. Locate the information booth and the market manager to redeem EBT coins and to take advantage of the Market Match incentive.
