Community Day at the Golden Bough Playhouse
to
Golden Bough Playhouse Monte Verde Street between 8th & 9th Avenue, City of Carmel-by-the-Sea, California 93923
Pacific Repertory Theatre (PacRep) will host "The Secrets of the Golden Bough" – a Community Day & Open House at the historic theatre complex. This will be an opportunity for the community, theatre-goers and anyone interested in learning more about the historic Golden Bough, to take a backstage tour and hear about PacRep's future plans for Carmel's most unique performing arts center.
“After a successful stage renovation and safety upgrade to the historic Golden Bough, completed in 2011, we plan to complete our improvements and are kicking off a $2.7M "Make Your Mark" Capital Campaign to complete the long-planned auditorium and lobby renovations. We already have a $250,000 Community Challenge to get us started” said Stephen Moorer, Executive Director.
The Community Day & Open House is scheduled for Thursday, April 6, with hourly presentations from 4 - 7 PM at the Golden Bough Playhouse, Monte Verde between 8th & 9th in Carmel-by-the-Sea. Light refreshments and entertainment will be provided.
The tours will kick off at hourly beginning at 4:00 PM, with a brief welcome in the lobby followed by a tour of the theatre and behind-the-scenes areas such as the backstage control booths, the dressing rooms, the costume department, and the popular Circle Theatre.
Tour guests will go behind the scenes to see how the "theatre magic" comes together, including costumes, sets, make-up and props. Combining these many unique talents is the way PacRep productions come to life, and the company wants to share these skills and stories with the Community.
The tour will end with some surprise entertainment on the main stage. Tours will repeat at the top of each hour (4pm, 5pm & 6pm) but guests should feel free to drop in at any time and join the tour in progress.
There will be three door prizes awarded, one each hour.
No tickets are required.
Refreshments will be served.
