Annual King Tide Walk
Elkhorn Slough Reserve 1700 Elkhorn Road, Castroville, California 95012
Grab your camera and come join us on an early morning walk to witness the highest tide of the year! Learn about the king tide phenomenon from Reserve Naturalists, and help us document the effect of these extra-high tides on our trails. Photos will be sent to the California King Tides Initiative, where they may help scientists and policy makers plan for future sea-level rise. This is a free public event and a great way to help out as a volunteer scientist! Cameras and good hiking shoes are recommended. Questions? Reach out to Ariel Hunter, Volunteer Coordinator: ariel.hunter@wildlife.ca.gov (831)-728-2822 ex303. Reservations are required.
