Monterey, CA. – The City of Monterey’s Parks and Recreation Department is excited to host the 66th Annual Horticulture Faire and Plant Exchange, Saturday, March 18 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Friendly Plaza on the corner of Pacific and Jefferson streets. In addition to participants bringing yard clippings to share, local nurseries donate and distribute hundreds of plants and trees for residents to take home to plant and enjoy. There is also a great opportunity to learn about native plants, and drought resistant plant and tree options for residential landscaping. “Peninsula residents eagerly anticipate this day each year, and that makes it a fun, community event for everyone, not just the garden hobbyist,” said Park Operations Manager Louie Marcuzzo. Special thanks to the Kiwanis Club of Monterey and Monterey Volunteer Gardeners for their help and to Drought Resistant Nursery and Hana Gardens for their donations.
