The Great San Juan Bautista Rib Cook-off

The Great San Juan Bautista Rib Cook-Off returns for a three-day celebration of food, music, and community in the heart of historic San Juan Bautista. Award-winning pitmasters from across the country and beyond will serve more than 8,000 pounds of tender, slow-cooked ribs, fresh off the grill and coated in signature sauces as they compete for top honors including Best Ribs, Best Sauce, and the People’s Choice Award.

Festivalgoers can enjoy live entertainment throughout the weekend, with DJs and bands keeping the energy high from morning through late afternoon each day. Beyond the barbecue, the event features a vibrant marketplace filled with arts and crafts, unique gifts, specialty foods, and select commercial products.

Family-friendly activities, including pony rides and face painting, make this a fun outing for all ages. Whether you’re coming for the ribs, the music, or the lively atmosphere, the Rib Cook-Off offers something for everyone.
