Earth Day has evolved from a simple idea into a large environmental preservation movement and is now observed in over 190 countries worldwide. Several events are planned for Monterey and Santa Cruz Counties to celebrate 2023 Earth Day.

- Pacific Grove Community Garden Earth Day. The Earth Day celebration will offer fun, including a garden tour featuring information about succession planting, worm composting, and pollinator gardens; Appalachian tunes performed by local musicians; Children’s Garden Hour; and Performance Art by the BiG SuRCuS. - Carmel by the Sea Earth Day. Celebrate Mother Earth at Carmel's inaugural 2023 Earth Day celebration and learn about local programs, products, and incentives to go green.
