This annual event is billed as a celebration of cycling and caters to riders all ages, styles, and abilities who are enthusiastic about all things two-wheeled. Much of the festival takes place at the Laguna Seca Raceway and features everything from races to giveaways and workshops. Kid-oriented activities include a “Sea Otter” Egg Hunt, plenty of free ride time by age groups, and a chance to peruse the latest bikes and equipment.
Easter on the Farm Agricultural History Project

If you’re looking for a spot to ring in spring and celebrate the Easter season, the Agricultural History Project in Watsonville will be hosting its annual Easter Egg Hunt. Egg hunts will occur every hour at approximately 11:15, 12:15, 1:15, and 2:15. Participants will be grouped by age prior for each hunt and are also welcome to participate in a variety of other activities hosted by this free event, such as arts & crafts, face painting, and a meet and greet with the Easter Bunny. Egg hunts are open to kids ages 3-12.
April Spring Break Camp and Daytime Playtime

Rising Star Gymnastics will be holding its Spring Break Camp program for kids aged 5-12. Half or full-day camps, which are a great way to increase fitness, balance skills, and make new friends are available. Activities include tumbling, trampoline, slackline, and an obstacle course.
Additionally, for those looking for gymnastics-oriented playgroups, Rising Star’s Daytime Playtime program has resumed. Targeting your youngest kiddos, sessions take place each Thursday from 11 am-12 pm and follow an open-gym format, allowing your child to explore, play, and meet other kids. Gym staff will be present to ensure safety, but a participating adult for every two children must be present throughout the session to supervise. Masks must be worn by children over the age of 2. All children 6 months or younger are free.
Eggstravaganza at the Fairgrounds

Kids will enjoy an Easter egg hunt for age groups of 5 and younger, 6-8 years, and 9-12 years. Bring your basket and take part in the fun. The winners of the Easter Eggstravaganza coloring contest will also be announced. To obtain an entry form for the coloring contest, visit the website. Note that coloring entries are due at the Fairgrounds office by 5:00 pm by Friday, April 8 via hand delivery or standard mail.
Big Sur International Marathon

Winding along the famous beaches and precipices of Big Sur are 26.2 miles of some of the most challenging terrain a runner can find in the state. This year’s completely full event will take place on Sunday, April 24 and promises to be the best yet. An official qualifier for the Boston Marathon, the course features over 2,100 feet of total elevation gain before reaching Carmel, with a 6-hour total race window (approximately a 13:25 per mile pace). While race slots are full as of press time, spectators are welcome. Ideal viewing can be found at the official finish line at the junction of Highway 1 and Rio Road. Parking is available at the Crossroads Carmel, Barnyard, or Carmel Rancho shopping areas. Note: Due to road closures, Monterey residents are encouraged to refrain from recreational travel in the Big Sur area until after 1 pm on race day.
