Many of the traditional Monterey County lighting displays aren't up this year but there are still some neighborhoods and homes where you can safely view beautiful light displays from your car.
We asked our readers for tips on where to see lights:
Candycane Lane in Pacific Grove. The lighting displays are subdued this year and the park isn't decorated but there are still many homes decorated. Neighbors ask that visitors not leave their cars and to drive the neighborhood rather than walking. You'll find the neighborhood near Morse drive, off Forest Avenue in PG.
425 Reindollar Ave in Marina. This house and lawn are fully lit and the owners are ok with visitors walking into the driveway to see the details.
514 Dennett Street and 17-mile Drive in Pacific Grove. You'll find lots of decorations plus a beautiful light show at this home in PG.
Seaside DMV. We received a report that the large tree behind the DMV is lit up beautifully and worth a nighttime drive-by.
East Garrison in Marina. Lots of families have decorated this year and a drive through the development is well worth the effort.
The Oak Knoll Neighborhood in Monterey. Most of the neighborhood is decorated with Ralston Drive being a highlight.
718 Marion Drive, Salinas. The house is fully decorated with a music and light show running from 6-10 pm nightly.
City of Seaside. Our "reporters" suggest driving near Mescal and through del rey Oaks.
