Archie ran his first race! 🏃♂️ He participated in the My Museum's Monterey Firefighters Kid’s Hero Run over the weekend. 🚒
I wasn’t sure how he would feel about the obstacle course because he’s been afraid of bounce houses and always turned down opportunities to play in them. But he wasn’t nervous at all and didn’t even blink about it. He dove right in and was so focused! He was determined to “win.” He was running and climbing so fast and near the end of the course, he stopped to help a little girl in a purple coat get over a tricky part of the course. I was most proud of that act of kindness.
The event was a lot of fun and for an excellent cause. Archie liked his superhero mask and cape prizes (he took them to bed that night) and we celebrated with a cookie. He said he’s ready to race again!
