Archie and I have been reading through the Roald Dahl classics over the past year. We read a few chapters at bedtime, in waiting rooms, and wherever we have downtime. When we finished reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, we watched the 1971 Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory movie. He loved it, and I haven’t been able to convince him to watch the 2005 version yet because he likes the original so much.
This week, I decided we should have a Willy Wonka-themed day. We reread some of our favorite chapters, created our golden tickets, and hit all the candy shops on the wharf, pretending it was a chocolate factory.
I’m the fussy one in our household, trying to ensure everyone has a healthy, balanced diet, and I feel like I nag a lot about not eating too many sweets. It was fun to cut loose for one day to indulge and say yes to the treats. 🍭 🍬 🍫
