Palma is a Catholic, college-preparatory school for boys grades 7 through 12. Established in 1951, Palma is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and the Western Catholic Educational Association (WCEA).
The first benefit of Palma School’s all-boys environment is peer power. The bond of brotherhood is strong and when harnessed, it leads to life-long friendships and the kind of camaraderie, respect, and support not found at any other local school.
A campus culture of inclusivity is fostered by team-building retreats at every grade level. Meaningful service, from tutoring at local grade schools and building homes for the impoverished in Mexico and Peru to a prison program that changes the lives of both students and inmates, allows young men to grow in character and compassion, making them effective leaders.
Through rigorous academics and championship athletics, the intrinsic competitiveness of boys pushes each to excel. The junior high school and high school are mixed on Palma’s campus and upperclassmen become role models and mentors. The Catholic tradition in our Chapel and classrooms provides that every student and their families are welcomed and valued regardless of their origin, heritage or faith. Creating a spiritual foothold provides an advantageous position for a developing young man to propel upward and forward.
The faculty, most of whom possess advanced degrees, are passionate about the subjects they teach. Our coaches understand that student-athletes are students first so their influence includes good grades and sportsmanship.
