12 PM. 6th Annual Pumpkin Rolling Contest
The official pumpkin-rolling course is right down Ocean Avenue between Santa Rita to Junipero Streets. The course will be lined with hay bales and fencing to keep pumpkins from veering off track and give spectators a front-row view of the heart-stopping action. Come join in the fun! If you’d like to participate in Carmel’s Annual Pumpkin-Rolling Contest, look for the truckload of pumpkins parked at Ocean Avenue and Santa Fe Street.

5 PM. Halloween at Gilroy Gardens
Don’t miss “The Great Big Boo!” live musical show, spookified rides, games, crafts, and magical light displays throughout the park. Come in costume and go trick-or-treating along the Boo Trail! Admission is free with 2020 Premium membership! Held on select days through October 31.

9 AM. Thomas and Percy’s Halloween Party
Dress up for Halloween with favorites Thomas and Percy, for a 20-minute train ride, entertainment, and fun-filled activities for the entire family. Your ticket includes a fun-filled day of activities: a train ride with Thomas the Tank Engine and Percy, Thomas & Friends themed entertainment, Storytelling, and Video Viewing, Temporary Tattoos of Island of Sodor friends, and an Imagination Station with Arts & Crafts, a pumpkin patch and more. 10 AM. Halloween Party for Tots
This Halloween Party is designed especially for 3-5-year-olds and their parents to enjoy a little silly and spooky fun! The Monterey Public Library will be joining us to present special Halloween stories and songs, followed by tot-friendly crafts, mini-games and a costume parade. Light snacks will be provided. The Bookmobile will be available following the party for all to visit and enjoy. Costumes are encouraged but not required.

2 PM. Lighthouse District Children’s Trick-or-Treat
Lighthouse District shops, restaurants, and boutiques will be open and welcoming little goblins with special treats, 2pm-5pm, rain or shine! Be our overnight guest for a howling good time and enjoy the thrill of the zoo after dark. (This is for ages 5 and up with an adult.) During your adventure, learn the truth about “scary” animals through Halloween-themed activities, games, live animal encounters and night tours. Your adventure includes Trick-or-Treat stations and a hot breakfast the next morning. Bring your own tent to tent camp in the Crooked House Meadow, or sleep indoors inside the classroom. The City of Carmel-by-the-Sea was incorporated on Halloween in 1916, so it celebrates its birthday and the country’s favorite costume-and-candy holiday with a Halloween Parade at 11 a.m. through downtown. Following the parade at Sunset Center is a hot-dog lunch with all the fixin’s--plus chili, chips, drink, ice cream, and birthday cake!
